Jaiyant, ebooks have been around for a while but have not been very popular. Apart from technology issue, there is also an issue of copyright. And of course people still prefer the feel of real book to printouts (if they prefer to read offline).
There will be niche areas of demand just like audio books have some demand for management and self help type of audio books but otherwise its an idea thats taking forever to catch up.

But be careful with those fly-by-night publishers and self-publishing companies, as well as the literary agents that you will encounter along the way. Research your way through thoroughly first.
